42nd Street, August 2005
David Merricks’s Song & Dance Extravaganza
42nd Street
From the creators of Crazy for You and Titanic comes 42nd Street.
42nd Street is a great big smiling, sparkling, tapping, back-flipping production. It’s the Broadway musical for people who love Broadway musicals, and the show that earned the 1980 Tony Award for Best Musical and the 2001 Tony Award for Best Musical revival.
42nd Street is the timeless, inspiring tale of small town Peggy Sawyer’s rise from chorus line to Broadway star. The show features some of broadway’s most beloved songs, including Lullaby of Broadway, We’re in the Money, Shuffle off to Buffalo, Keep Young and Beautiful, I only Have Eyes for You and the spectacular title number.
