A Doll's House, September 1988
Oxford Stage Company present Ibsen’s classic.
A Doll’s House is a play about facing up to the truth and gaining freedom in a society where roles and social expectations seem impossible traps. Ibsen portrays Nora “the little wife” struggling to break free: an idea which was unheard of at the time and his play caused a sensation. It is a startling and modern play, especially in this new adaptation by Fay Weldon, author of The Life and Loves of a She-Devil, Praxis and Heart of the Country.
