An Evening of Choral and Orchestral Music, June 2002

Stevenage Golden Jubilee Festival.

Stevenage Choral Society, Hitchin Symphony Orchestra, and Heathcote School Choir join forces to create a magic evening of music and song. Highlights of the evening will be the world premiere of a work specially commissioned for the Festival, The Selfish Giant, composed by the popular Director fo the orchestra, Paul Adrian Rooke. The piece retells the popular story by Oscar Wilde, with the school choir telling the story. Also included will be a performance of Mozart’s piano concerto in C, for which the soloist will be young local performer Alex Rowe.
