Christie Organ Concert - Charles McNicol, July 1989

Charles’ interest in organs is not confined to playing, his enthusiasm for the cinema organ is such that in 1979, in partnership with two friends, he rebuilt the Compton (from the Savoy, Lincoln) into a private cinema and plays it regularly on Radio Nottingham.  The first of his many contributions to The Organist Entertains was, in fact, made on the Christie in the early days of that programme.  His expertise at accompanying silent films will be demonstrated during his programme.
