The welcome return to our Autumn season of this very popular orchestra with a richly varied programme: Hayden’s Symphony No. 77, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2, Windsor Variations by Berkeley and Mozart’s Symphony No. 40. Christopher Adey, tonight’s conductor, gives regular performances throughout the British Isles and frequently appears at both the Barbican and Royal Festival Hall, where he has worked with all the major London orchestras, as well as being a regular guest conductor with many British youth orchestras. He has been Principal Conductor of the Royal College of Music Sinfonia since 1979. Anthony Goldstone is one of Britain’s most respected and versatile musicians. He has played with all the major Symphony orchestras and is one of Britain’s most broadcast artists.
