Mr Sloane lands on his feet when he goes to lodge with Kath in her house by the rubbish dump. All his wants are provided for as long as he does some “favours” for her and her brother, Ed. It looks as if he’s got them eating out of his hand when his sordid past catches up with him. But Sloane is a shameless survivor.
