Having a Ball, August 1982
“Having a Ball is a wickedly funny adult comedy from the pen of Liverpool’s Alan Bleasdale, one of the most exciting stage writers to emerge in recent years. Lovely TV star Susan Penhaligon (A Fine Romance, A Kind of Loving) is joined by Peter Cleall (The Fenn Street Gang, Spooner’s Patch) and Richard Walker at the head of a large cast in Roy Patrick’s Lyceum Theatre, Crewe production of this hysterically funny play, which comes to the Craig for the week beginning Monday 9 August. Set in a Vasectomy Clinic (!), where misunderstandings pile up atop the patients’ nervous fears, the action includes both full-frontal male nudity and earthy language — but nothing to make your maiden aunt cry any tears but those of helpless laughter! Obviously not for the children, but a real tonic for the rest of us!”
£4.00, £3.50, £2.50 (c: £2.40, £2.10, £1.50) except Monday 9 and 5.00 pm only Saturday 14 August, all seats £2.50 (c: £1.50)
