Iolanthe, May 1990
The Stevenage Lytton Players present Iolanthe or “Triumph of the Greenies”
Rising from the lake of politics a new Green Force is making itself felt. Gilbert and Sullivan’s immortal IOLANTHE is a natural vehicle upon which to exploit these ideas. The forces of law, immortality and rustic appeal assert themselves anew through Sullivan’s sparkling score to provide a show that will be meaningful to young and old alike.
