Ken Stroud, July 1993
Christie Organ Concert
Like most organists, Ken’s musical tuition started during childhood with piano lessons. He studied church organ with Frank Wright but his ambition was to play the theatre organ and at the age of fourteen he became organist at The Globe, Clapham Junction, following this with appointments at York, Potters Bar, and Slough. After war service Ken resumed his musical career as resident at the Ritz, Nuneaton and since that time he has appeared at numerous other venues. He has also been featured in The Organist Entertains on Radio 2 and since today is US Independence Day, his programme is likely to have a distinctly American flavour.
