Orpheus in the Underworld, March 1982
“Orpheus in the Underworld, the sparkling and wickedly funny Offenbach operetta which takes the lids off Heaven and Hell, is this spring’s major offering from the Hitchin Thespians. Producer Robin Sherringham — who has himself taken part in the show at Sadler’s Wells — has followed Offenbach’s lead in keeping the fun topical, and is also responsible for the lively choreography — this is the one with the can-can, remember! Peter Jenkyns is Musical Director of a show offering ideal entertainment for the whole family.
