Rossini’s popular and most famous comic opera, here performed in English and with charming traditional costumes, by Swansea City Opera as part of their national tour.
Set in Seville in the late 18th Century, Count Almaviva is in love with rich and beautiful Rosina, ward of the lecherous Doctor Bartolo, who plans his own marriage to her. Along comes the meddling town barber, Figaro, and all the ingredients for confusion and mayhem. But is there a happy ending?
Some of the country’s finest singers and orchestral players providing an evening full of theatrical wit and humour and a feast for the eyes and ears.
