The Mad Mad Mad Show, August 1982
“The Mad Mad Mad Show takes (over?) the stage on the evening of Saturday 21 August. Here, the stars’ own words, are ‘two hours of non-stop lunacy with songs, sketches, magic, and fun, plus the dreaded audience participation!’ And the stars? Who else but those nutters from Central TV’s OTT and Tiswas, John Gorman and Clive Webb, with assistance from keyboard ace Mike Mann, Gorman’s offbeat humour has delighted British audiences for years, from the days of The Scaffold, through the vintage early Tiswas to OTT‘s extraordinary success last winter, while Webb’s lunatic magic — ‘like a freaked out latterday Tommy Cooper,’ someone once said — has been the highspot in many a club in its day. If you want to be ‘with it’ you’ve got to catch this one!”
