The Royal Philharmonic Pops, May 1993
A very welcome return to this immensely popular orchestra whose concert eighteen months ago sold out within days. Tonight’s programme under conductor Adrian Leaper — who was also conductor on their previous visit — comprises Brahm’s Academic Festival Overture, Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night’s Dream: Scherzo, Strauss’ Radetszky March, Elgar’s Enigma Variations and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No 5.
This concert is promoted in collaboration with Eastern Orchestral Board and subsidised by the Arts Council of Great Britain.
