The Stevenage Youth Orchestra, July 1980
The Stevenage Youth Orchestra return for their annual summer concert, under the baton of the Herts County Music school’s Keith Sedgebeer. Their programme opens with the Overture, The Prospect of Liverpool, by Graham Whettam and includes Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks, Hadyn’s Cello Concerto in D Major (with Arnold Ashby as guest soloist), Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony, and Soirees Musicales, which Benjamin Britten fashioned from Rossini’s operatic melodies.
