Wyrd Sisters, March 2013
The Wednesday SDA class present Terry Pratchett’s ‘Wyrd Sisters’ (adapted by Stephen Briggs), a take on William Shakespeare’s Hamlet & The Scottish Play you know as Macbeth . . . . It’s all there, everything you’ve ever wanted from a play remotely based on Shakespearean tragedies — a wicked duke and duchess, the ghost of the murdered king, dim soldiers, strolling players and a kingdom in peril. And who stands between the Kingdom and peril? Three witches: Granny Weatherwax (intolerant, self-opinionated), Nanny Ogg (down-to-earth, vulgar), and Magrat Garlick (naive, fond of occult jewellery and bunnies). Stephen Briggs’ adaptation is a fun trip around Discworld brought to life by the Senior Drama Academy.
